I agree that the gouge in front of the chin would hold this to63.

Is that a mark or struck through in front of the chin?
I'm at MS63/63+ if it's a mark, MS64 if it's a struck through

strike is pretty much right but the breast is a tad light for the year. might have some subdued luster on the cheek. good eye appeal. I think its in the MS63+/MS64 range. better than most GSA's. I think it has good shot at 64

Can you provide us with a photo of the certificate? I believe there were 2 different certificates. One read "The Carson City Silver Dollar." And the other "The Carson City Silver Dollars", with a blue number at the top right. The first 2 numerals of that number represents the year. The latter certificate is the one that most prefer, and some dates are extremely hard to find and very expensive. Such as the 1879. The more common dates such as the 82, 83, & 84 are readily available.

Here is the certificate of authenticity but I'm about positive it's the wrong one the first 2 numbers start with 82 it should start with 83 but y'all can let me know. I got a little more information he switched boxes when he bought it because the original box was ripped, so I guess the coa got switched as well.

So the guy I'm buying it from ordered me a original 1883 cc GSA coa, it's one that looks like this one but this is just a stock image, but this should be the correct one right. Thanks

Think it could get A 62 with all the scratches on her face.

The correct numbered certificate for the 1883CC GSA should begin with 83. It should look like the example you have shown. Of course, it could show some wear and handling issues.

MS-64. Doesn't really matter whether it's a GSA or not. Doesn't add significant premium other than the value of the box.

relook
strike is a tad weak for the year especially the breast. looks like the luster may be broke or very subdued across the cheek. eye appeal is average. there are quite a few marks, abrasions and minor scratches on the left side of the obv. reverse preservation is a little better with on a couple minor marks on the right field and what might be rub on the left side.
i think there are little many defects to make MS64. I'm at MS63 maybe a +
