This came in and it looks pretty good for 33 smackers. Shot a video to show its surfaces better. I tried some funky background music that will likely not be that popular but I like it.

To be fair, I didn't expect it to look like it did when it arrived based on the seller's photos.

I can't get a good feel for this one. Are these seller pics or yours NS?
Surfaces definitely look messed with, not original, I'll say that with confidence. 14-S is typically slightly soft to average in strike, but better than a good number of San Fran struck buffs. This one looks on par with average.
Is that a die crack running E-W through the braid into the jaw? Also E-W from the buffalos head, through the leg, into the belly? Can we get a closeup shot of the MM?
rather than a vid which is too small to see the coin post in-hand photos. the coin looks way better in the vid but just to small and rotating the coin doesn't help.

After your video I was leaning towards genuine with altered surfaces, now I'm leaning towards counterfeit.
See pic below:
The circled areas look like small raised bumps, do they look raised in hand? The void in the squared area is a concern as well. 1- Buffalos "beard" does not look correct. It looks oversized, bulbous, and lacks detail. 2&2- Front legs look incorrect. The buffalos right leg looks narrow while the left looks abnormally large.
The deeper than usual void around the buffs front left leg and around sits belly also looks suspect. In your video this area reflects light differently as well.
I'm also concerned with the granularity of the entire FIVE CENTS area as well.
NS- what does the edge look like on this one? There should be signs of striations from the planchet being punched out, but not completely crossing the entire edge. Also, check where the edge and rim meet, if those surfaces are beveled and granular, that is also a red flag.
For $33 bucks, a very Interesting discussion piece so far!
i think Ty2020b assessment has viability. after looking at multiple high end examples. these areas pointed out just are not correct and something just doesn't look right about the surfaces.
Over the weekend I retrieved these coins, the 1913s t2 and 1914s from the safe deposit box and weighed this coin. This one was 4.53 grams which is outside any reasonable tolerance around the 5 gram specification. Contacted the seller and he agreed to refund my money. Seller was great and sped the refund even though it had been close to 2 months since the purchase. Thanks to all for your help!

Good to hear he was willing to work with you there. Would be nice to add these to my blacklist portion of my binder for reference, but don't see any way to purchase them via ebay from the seller, at a reasonable, low price of course.
