Quote:4 grand for a penny ! Yep, and that is why I passed on it. Like I said up above, the coins real value is closer to 500 to a grand. But all the sellers are treating it like gold. So I got the 1950 proof set instead.

Quote: 4 grand for a penny ! It can feel psychologically strange on a fundamental level. LOLOLOL I've walked into shows with $500 and left with like 16 cents.

By my calculations, I've spent more than $10K on a cent 7 times.

Congratulations on the pickup. I believe that once you get it, the white appearance in the sellers images are on the plastic, not the coins. I have the 1954 set which looks very similar, and the coins inside are spotless. You did very well on the price, I'm envious and would have bid against you as I need one myself.

Thanks Bally! I'm glad I got it also - I no have that empty place in my proof sets. Done with that, now to start up a savings for the other one I really want. (then maybe that 1909-S VDB - which I also need)
