It does look like this will be a good coin to get your hands on if you can regardless of the mintage. My guess is that, just like the Terry Fox , everyone will want one as a keepsake and before too long they will disappear.

I just got a roll from my local metro too.
Does anyone know why they differentiate between the paper and plastic rolls?

Are these only available in PQ? Should I bother trying to find a Metro here in ON?

My guess is that they are only available in Quebec, but its worth a try to check out you local Metro.
(Worst comes to worst you just hop the border and pick some up.....depending on how far you are from QC)

So is this like when those poppy quarters were distributed exclusively by tim hortons? I wasn't too impressed with that scheme personally.

The Montreal Gazette reports this morning that Metro has distributed 3 million Habs loonies so far and is sitting on another 4 million. The other 3 million "are to be distributed across Canada via banks and other institutions", no word on exactly where or when.

Well, at least Tim Horton's is all across the country. Where are these Metro stores located?

Tim's eh... I got my poppies from Shoppers Drug Mart in Ontario. I thought they were the only original distributors; they also have postal outlets and that's why I figured they were distributing cuz postal outlets are/were often the first outlets to do so. And let's not forget Petro Canada for the Olympic quarters!(?) I also picked up 3 Montreal Canadiens mint roll fresh loonies on ebay for $9CDN including shipping. They're out there but you hafta put in some effort to get a decent price. Quote: Where are these Metro stores located? WpgLwr
I take it they're in Quebec?
