i think this is decent strike. hard to tell the real color. if it is gold toning that adds some value and could bump it a bit. some minor marks on buff's shoulder, body and rear quarter. I cant see it less than MS65 and if the color has that gold tone along with the nice strike i'd say it was closer to MS66

This coin is currently in an AU58 holder but I'm thinking about sending it to PCGS with a couple other NGC graded coins for crossover see how they do.

I was thinking mid-MS until you said that it is currently graded as an AU-58. I'm thinking that there's something that we're all not seeing. It's a beautiful coin for sure! I'm stuck with a low MS regardless of the previous grade. Am curious!

AU58 seems way too low for this coin.

Cointree! Yes it does seem too low. I'll stick will low MS for now. Why would it have been a 58 to begin with? Hmmmmm

My complete inability to grade Buffalo nickels is one reason why I don't buy very many high end Buffalo nickels (other than the price!) Not sure how I missed this one by a country mile, but wow! I blew that one.

One on hand, AU-58 seems too low. On the other, It looks like I messed up on this Buff with MS-64 Perhaps the actual grade is in the middle, at MS-61 or 2.
For those prepared to pay slabbing fees, perhaps a re submission may be in order. Nevertheless, it is worthy to remember that the TPGrader gets to examine in hand, with a 10x loupe, under ideal lighting conditions. We don't.

Good Luck to you in sending it in. At first glance, without the coin in hand, I would think it can get a MS60-63. It is a nice strike, and a lovely coin.

First set of pics I questioned whether it was AU. Later pics look convincing for MS. I think there's an outside shot at 64, but with the subdued luster and cabinet rub/slide rub (whatever it may be) I'd say better chance at MS63.
Good luck and keep us posted!

i agree with dsking. grading by photo is hard enough. your photos do not appear to show any wear on this coin but maybe they saw something we cant. you need to look at the coin in hand under a 10x to see if you see any signs of circulation

PCGS did a good job with the photos. I sent these coins in last month and my coins shipped today. AU58 is the grade.

someone got some dang good eyes if they can see circulation on this coin. I'm still trying to figure out how this coin is less than 65
I'm seeing a couple very fine hairlines on the obv. toning is a little blotchy. on the reverse some flatness of the horn and split of the tail and a few more hairline than the obv on the shoulder and body as well as little blotchy toning here also.
