If authentic, ebay is NOT the correct auction venue due to tons of fakes. I would recomend Stacks or Heritage. First, get the piece authenticated. Welcom to the forum. Edited to add; Here is a contact that may be of some help. (good people) http://www.coinraritiesonline.com/

Well money is tight right now and I don't have time to wait, so I am taking a chance and am going to sell this piece on ebay. My seller name is RCPIGS and it will be listed today. I hope one of you great coin dealers will look at it and get a great deal. Kind Regards, rcpigs

Well, I saw the auction and also read there were copies engraved in England. Lacking authentication, people were smart to be cautious here.

Interesting , on the link those are not yet available? I also have been reading this link which pretty firmly puts it in the Indian peace medal camp , albeit a copy possibly. Im thinking it could be one of these 1904 restrikes ? http://www.exonumia.com/fakes/indian.htm

No, the medal from the US Mint website has been available for many years and they just mint more when the supply runs low. To give you an example, I purchased this exact same medal in Springfield, IL as a kid in the early 1980s. The Washington Medal was available at Mount Vernon in the early 1990s when I was there, although I no longer have that one because it was stolen The Mint-produced medal is 1 5/16" in diameter but I do not have a weight handy.

Why does the mint do this ? Restrike a coin or token exactly as it was 100 years ago..seems to defeat the purpose of collecting.
