@John1 bottom left in both A'S are double. Light is filtered. It the way Those Quarters look under my microscope.

Well, I'm seeing something there, but if it were doubling, it would be on all devices not random and skipping. Besides the letters are incuse. which makes what you see up on the fields.

@Dearborn I understand what you're saying but to me from what I'm seeing it has the doubling. I don't think there is anything reference for this coin as a DDR especially with the two A's. |

This isn't what doubling would look like on incuse lettering (honestly, it isn't really what doubling would look like on any devices, but certainly not incuse like these).

@Samcoin no possibility huh? Ok. Hypothetically speaking if that was a Lincoln Penny and a Lincoln earlobe so you're saying that wouldn't be considered a double earlobe? Edited by DMN

Edit to respond to your edit: I don't know what you mean about Lincoln cents and earlobes. If you're asking "what if this were a different coin that did actually have doubling instead of this one that does not?" then the answer is obviously that it would be a doubled die. If this were a 1969-S FS-101, it would also be a doubled die. If my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a school bus. This coin is not a doubled die.

@SamCoin I have no idea what your grandmother has to do with this?  But I'm sticking to topic because first of all Since this is a new coin I want to make sure that I'm not missing anything that looks unusual. And as for as the Lincoln doubled earlobe I was referring to the following picture is what I mean. Thanks  Edited by DMN

1. The earlobe is raised, not incuse. Raised elements get expanded by doubling, and incuse get reduced by doubling. If the areas you pointed to were doubling, they would be expanding the As outwards beyond the area they would ordinarily occupy, which is not what happens when incuse devices get doubled.
2. Even if the As were raised like the earlobe, the As do not look at all like doubling, as the areas you pointed out aren't SHAPED like the device you claim is doubled. Note that the doubled ear lobe is actually SHAPED like the primary earlobe.

There is something there. Sam, a double die on incused devises would not make them bigger, it would make them smaller. You have to think backwards on incised. There is a narrowing at the arrows.

I have managed to find one on these quarters so far (unfortunately I don't have a photo on-hand), it looks like a "bar on column" Memorial cent DDR, inside the H in EDITH. Edited by Tanman2001
