$1950 with 3 days to go, this should prove interesting! I've heard estimates of 5K being realised, but we shall have to wait and see. If there are only 22 examples of this Coin, does that make it the rarest non-error Coin to ever exit the RAM?

Auction ended at AUD$3,333.33 . If you look at the bidding history, there are heaps of collectors who are willing to pay more than what Downies was asking.

He may have got the set from Downies.
He certainly got his images from there.

Answers were given at the start....***edited*** Downies do NOT have any sets remaining, so it's too late for you to get one cheap now.

it is very hard to get an accurate guage on what these sets are really worth at the moment , because more may surface later ?and until we get an approximate number and these sets trade in an open market for a while we will never know really , remember the medical corps fiasco everyone , they are now worth a quarter what they used to get for them

PNC king I really don't believe that we can relate this latest Mule to the Medical Corp Issue. We always knew what the Medical Corp mintage was, and we knew that the 50c Coin was nothing special, merely a re-strike. The reason that the Med Corp is now selling at a reduced value is because the Dealers and Profiteers got in early and created an artificial shortage, which in turn created an unrealistic selling price on ebay. It may be many years before we have a reasonably accurate mintage figure for the 2005 Mule, but judging by the way they are only now starting to trickle on to ebay I would say that the Downies figure may well be close to the mark.

I believe very strongly, this is the original set offered! Be very very careful, something is NOT adding up here!!!

I think this is that original set too as the buyer 'donitsgood' has got neg feedback from this seller for non payment. He (donitsgood-1st buyer)had no feedback anyway. Fresh start, new auction, see what it goes for!?!?!? I sooooo still want one of these sets....but not at the latest prices.

For our US and non-Aussie Forum members, Colonial Coins in Brisbane told me at the Brisbane ANDA Show they know of 5 sets from their original November 2005 allocation of 2006 Proof sets had the 2005 Proof $1 in them. At least one of their customers rang in to say he had the error set. He was lucky to get his set at issue price.
That makes around 26 known sets so far.

As far as I am aware off, there are at least two of the CCF members here who own one of the sets....statistics wise, that is extremely good when there are only about 80 Aussie members here...
