Some image manipulation to bring out a little detail. I'm at around F15 based on these photos. Surfaces? Who knows. Issues? Maybe.
Nothing wrong with gambling sometimes; my issue in this case would be that even if it turns out to be an original F12-F15 coin, you're in it pretty tight for that kind of money ($423) and buying in the middle of a bull market for coins. Full retail probably around $600, more if it's nice, quite a bit less if it's got issues. If it somehow slides into a VF20, then it's a solid buy at the price.
The scarcity of the variety is always a bonus, assuming you've nailed it down correctly.
I find it curious that someone would list a coin of this sort with such terrible pictures. It shows a complete lack of giving a darn on the part of the seller, or a deliberate attempt to hide issues with the coin, or perhaps both. If it's a decent coin, better photos would have upped the bidding, so seller may end up being the loser here.

This selling platform is home to the most sophisticated numismatists in the world to people trying to sell items with the least amount of effort. Nevertheless, I think there was fairly heated bidding for this item, reaching a price higher than I expected.

If seller saw this they'd probably be kicking themselves right about now - a loss of a couple hundred bucks because someone didn't want to spend 5 minutes to take decent photos has to hurt.

I think the reverse might hold it to F-15 straight grade. Obverse is very close to a 20.

I think I would agree that this is probably a winner -- although more like winning $50 on a scratch-off ticket than winning $50m on the Powerball, but a win is a win.
Definitely looks better in your photos. You can see it's had an old cleaning (find me one that hasn't!) but eye appeal is just fine, better than most that I run across. More importantly, yours is relatively free of major damage (bends, digs, scrapes, etc.)
