I had seen that thread, but that was a gold guilded one from a jewelry piece. Mine is solid gold. Was trying to get in touch with DrDarryl (the writer of the Hawaii Numismatist blog), since he seems to know a lot about these pieces, but new members are not allowed to message.

Let me know if this image quality is good enough. If not, I can take another photo tomorrow.

I've been working on cataloging the Princess Kaiulani issues by the Royal Hawaiian Mint. This is my in-work page for the medal. (the 1997 image was used to check if the obverse die was being used in the dolphin reverse (it's not).

What would you estimate the value of it to be?

Anyone have an idea of value?

At the least, worth it's weight in gold. No idea if there is a numismatic premium.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I would assume there are collectors for these somewhere. It was a limited mintage of only 100, I would think it would hold a good premium. If anybody has any idea of value or any past record of a sale that would be super helpful!

Have you had any luck with searching completed sales on ebay?

Unfortunately no. I have found similar items, but none that I would consider a comp.

That certainly makes it more difficult to pin down a price. You could always list it with the starting bid right above spot and see how high it goes, but that can be risky—that is, it sells for spot. Hopefully someone else can come up with a resource.
