I checked the coin return/reject and found an 1864 Indian Head.

It may have been rejected because it was a copper-nickel cent. They are thicker and heavier than bronze cents.

It should weigh about 4.6 grams if it's copper-nickel. You should also check the thickness.

Thanks!

It's pretty thick, and it actually has the same color as a dime or nickel. I will get pics up ASAP.

I love hearing about finds like that.
Last month I went to the drive through at my bank and asked for a roll of half dollars. I pulled a 1941-S Walker and 1960-D Franklin in circulated condition from the roll!

Is this what is known as a "fatboy" IHC? (Forgive the naive question.)

im always amazed at the stuff that can be found from machines, this just goes to show that sometimes you find more in the machines than in the rolls themselves!
