Just to make sure you have a proof set and not a mint set.
Yes, has to be Proof Mint Set. No Uncirculated Mint Sets were issued that year or the year before (1982).

Quote:
Not to be confused with the 1983 P or D Uncirculated Souvenir Set which where sold in the Mint gift shops.

I would send the set to NGC. I believe they will put them all in one slab.

These images where taken this morning,I just have not reset the time stamp in the coin scope. I am the least tech savvy boomer around!
And I have reached the decision that the Dime remaining in the Proof Set out weighs the removal and grading individually. Thanks for your inputs.

Really nice Deep Cameo example. Congratulations.

Is the discoloration at the ST (STATES) on the package or the coin?
The grading company might be able to conserve it, if it's on the coin.

The defect you see is on the packaging/casing.

Very cool find. I would personally leave it in the mint packaging. If you choose encapsulation, the NGC large multi-coin holder seems like a great option for the full proof set.
