Appreciate you sharing. I was 50/50 that my bid would prevail. I bid an amount that I would be happy with if it held and also happy to let go if it went over. I suppose that's what everyone bids though. Also $5,151 was a an odd number that seemed to make sense at the moment. I am also looking forward to seeing the coin in hand and hearing the community's thoughts on it before and after my in hand pics.

Wow. A nice AU-55. This was one of the few dates I never got while building a set of Bust Halves in the late 1960's. I'm envious! Congrats on a great buy.

NS you are on a roll with these halves. how do you have them displayed. it would be really interesting to see them by date in an album but it sounds like you are just grabbing up what your eye is drawn to.

some crazy clashing going on as its pretty prominent. just assessing it by the photos presented I'm mid AU. I think the subdued or missing luster and eye appeal would keeo it out the 58 box so I'm going with AU55

Thank you to all for sharing your thoughts. @Panzaldi - I keep them in a safe. Mainly I look at them in photos online and I recently posted a date run here, to be updated soon with the 1815/2 and 1837 examples.

I think it is accurate grade. With the image cannot tell if the surfaces would pass as original. Excellent example of a rarity. Do you plan to submit to PCGS or NGC?

I don't think so. I value the CCF grade more than any TPG grade.

This came in and the words that immediately come to mind are: 'so lustrous.' What a beauty. And it doesn't seem to have any problems that I can see but kindly point them out if you see them. What a home run. Super delighted seeing this one. I think no less than AU. I guess ICG sometimes misses the grade on the low side too imho. Paid $5,064 for this one. Would appreciate your further thoughts. Thanks!

Very nice, I'm still at AU-55. What looks like wear is more strike issue than actual wear. The right half of the eagle gives you a good idea on the amount of wear.
