Since 2000, which means including 2000? Mine doesn't have the red leaf :(

Just kidding, mine is 2002. Did they release noncolored ones for circulation?

The non-coloured ones are circulation issues

Timotay, did you say the 2009 is oversize ? That would suck I have the whole series and will be bummed out if they went to an oversize it makes it not a quarter any more.

Yup 35mm. http://www.colonialacres.com/cgi-bi...09_canadaday
I guess maybe to justify the increase in cost, now at $15 instead of the $10 before

this year's CANADA DAY coin is not the only over sized 25 cent coin the mint has produced, there have been others recently such as the bird series (downy woodpecker etc), Anne of green gables, and a few others.

That sucks I have a complete collection, except the over size. I will not bother with any oversize.I always felt the same size as circulation with the same obverse lent some credibility to the coin but they just exploit the 'brand' way to far.

I have to agree with you Mr.Canada trying to keep an up to date 25cent collection can be overwhelming. I gave up trying to keep up a couple of years ago.

is it crazier than our State Quarter program?

could be Yotie. I'm not that familiar with the State Quarter program but trying to keep up a quarter collection in Canada has gotten crazy over the past 2-3 years. The mint produces coin sets for various occasions (birthday sets, baby sets, wedding, congratulation, oh Canada) and each set has a quarter unique to that set and year. So you have to buy the whole set each year just for the quarter at $20.00 a pop. They also have sets for Christmas and the 6 Canadian hockey teams, hockey sets are 25.00 each. There are a dozen or so Olympic quarters circulated AND colorized. When you throw in the coins that were put into circulation ( 2 poppy coins, breast cancer, veterans, and a few others )as well as the larger size mentioned above... like I said it gets a bit overwhelming.

..... sorry for ranting but this is a pet peeve of mine...

I didn't bother with the colourised Olympic coins there encased in plastic that I found out can't be taken out. The gift sets I let go as well I will look for them on e-bay down the road.It is just too much stuff.
