Hello Yves,

For 5 cents going by memory, I have see the following variations

2000, 2000P
2001, 2001P
2002P
2003P (crown), 2003P (no crown)
2004P
2005P (beaver), 2005P (1945-2005 commerative)
2006, 2006P, 2006RCM

For 25 cents

I think you are correct. But, I am not sure if the rare 2000P are caribou or millennium commerative types.

For 50 cents.

2006RCM does exist according to Haxby & Wiley

HI !

Thanks again for your help.

I check on ebay by the time... I see that the 25¢ P caribou exist but I do not remember the price... it can be rare.

THe millenium "P" are listed in catalogue but very expensive.

I'm going with that list.

Thanks again !

Hi !

It's good reference for 1¢, 5¢ and maybe 50¢ but not sure... to other list are not at date

In the 1¢ it's write that in 2007 the version " RCM" are issued magnetic and non magnetic.

For the 5¢ no difference.

For the 50¢ it's write that the 2003-2004-2005 issue are available no mark. On ebay I never see one, maybe just in specimen set.

If anyone are more information about this 3 difference just tell it :)

Thanks john for the link :)

For the 2007 cent, I see one is magnetic and one is not. Which comes from the PL set and which comes from a circulation roll?

I am bringing up this topic because I have a question about the regular/"normal" 50 Cents coins from 2006.
(I am relatively new to Canadian coins).

Is it true that the ones with the " RCM" mint-mark were only available through sets, while the ones with the "P" mark were (also) available in rolls?

2000P 25 cents was only issued in sets- the regular 2000, with no P, were the millennium issues, in 12 varieties.
2007 and 2009 metal varieties on the 1 cents were both issued for circulation.
The P stands for plated , using the RCM technology , on steel blanks that were coated with the other metals. The RCM Logo, often noted as L, were issued later in the year 2006, and in 2007-2010, but not on the commemorative issues of 2006-2010. Both varieties were issued for circulation.
The 2006 plain 5 cents was a copper-nickel issue.

2000P twenty-five cents (caribou) were not issued in sets, they were not issued at all, they were test coins that left the mint through the back door.
PS..a few 2000P commemoratives also exist but probably have the same origin.
