1999/2000 Millenium Quarters

d23, what sort of holder board does the 1992 PL quarters come in? Doesn't that also come with a loonie?

I have a different set. I bought the board and put in a PL quarters and dollar myself VERY carefully. lol

On the back it has all the information about each coin.

it can be hard to find because the PL coins should gather a higher value, but people dont want to pay that actual value for the coins. I have more than one of these sets which isn't necessary but selling is impossible if you expect to recoup the money spent.

kind of a catch 22 I think. I do know that the issue price for the uncirculated set on the oval board was 17.95 or something like that but when you compare those coins to PL coins there is a huge difference in my opinion.

I was in a coin shop in my area ( the only coin shop in my area) a while back and noticed a pile of the oval 1999 (or was it 2000?) sets selling for 19.99 each . however the coins in the sets were very obviously well circulated. Looked like the good coins were replaced by the not so good ones and probably sold separately. sort of a sneaky thing to do.

when you say PL do you mean Proof coins? or MS coins that have PL fields? with US coins there is a big difference but I don't know a thing about Canadian coins

Actually, those round boards were available almost everywhere for like a buck each. Most people filled them from circulation coins. I remember that happening for all three years ('92, '99, '00).

I dropped into a Royal Bank the other day to see if they had any rolls worth buying (I bank at CIBC and TD), and was astounded to find that they had big piles of blank boards for the Vancouver Olympic coins, for the taking, courtesy of the Royal Bank and the RCM.

The 2 sets have arrived yesterday!
