I think it was H. L. Menken who said that nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public. The really sad part of this story is that the people who are making and selling these "coins" are probably going to make a fortune!

LOL - hey, by the way - those Corey Haim coins just went up in value. Gone at 38.........not that I'm surprised.
I think they need to commemorate Laser Discs, Howard Jones, Talking Heads, The Outfield, Ready for the World and Prince as well.

Unfortunately Corey Haim wont be 'Moon Walking in Heaven' like MJ. I suspect if he is actually moon walking anywhere its a lot hotter than heaven! I almost feel sorry for the guy - almost, maybe this is karma finally catching up with him. There seems to be no limit on the crap people will peddle to make a few last bucks off the guy. When he died just before the O2 Arena concerts in London the people who organised it by law had to offer refunds on the tickets sold - Two days later they announced they would be sending out "Special souvenir tickets inspired and designed by Michael Jackson for the fans" and made with a "special lenticular process". This was of course instead of a refund.

You think this is bad!?!? The Jackson family just signed a $200,000,000.00 contract to release previous unpublished works.
Rather strange world we live in. Folks like Babe Ruth, Elvis Presley, and others make MORE money after they die than they did when they were living. But the money goes to family and agents!

Surprised they haven't made a Rick Astley coin. But He's not dead. HSN has some very overpriced items on their website and shows, like the "Goldmine" State Quarter set for $99.99...
