The 1879 S graded MS65 PL but the 1880 S graded only MS65. Do you think there was a mistake?

No I think those are both fair grades, I'm always conservative in my grades.

From the pics the 1880 actually looks more proof like, what holder are they in?

The 1880 S is in a PCGS CAC holder.

Those are two beauties. I would grade both at least MS-63, with the 1880 possibly going as high as MS-65.

I think the 1880 should have graded PL, at least thats how I feel lokking at the pictures. What do you think?

Yea thats what I was thinking. I bought it in hopes of it possibly resubmitting as a PL.  I think the coin is just beautiful. I paid $150 for it.

I would resubmit for sure, if you could get it returned proof like you could tack at least another $75 on top of that price. And I think you have a really good chance.
