I believe you made the right decision between the coin and the gun. That is a beautiful coin and even though I don't study this series (mainly because I can't see the little boogers very well) but if I had seen this coin myself and had the funds to purchase it (which probably wouldn't have happened) it would have had to come home with me. I don't know who is on your list to receive your coins if something was to happen to you but from what I have seen you post over the years on this forum they are going to have a very nice collection that would probably attract allot of attention. Have you ever thought of sending all your coins in to have a pedigree added to the label?

Have you ever thought of sending all your coins in to have a pedigree added to the label? I have thought about it a lot. So much I have created a pedigree for each of my coins containing when, where, why, cost, and other circumstances so that if I sell or when I give my collection 100% to my now 11 year old son (yes I tell him it's his) he and anyone else will know how they came about in the collection. Hopefully the next person would add to it and so on and so on, if I do pass along a coin. I always have said we aren't coin collectors we are coin custodians, saving them for other generations to enjoy.  Edited by Nelrak

I don't know about guns but usually when someone collects coins they also collect other things as well because it takes a certain trait to collect any thing like this. My wife used to call it OCD and I am not to sure she wasn't correct because no matter what I collected it pretty much consumed me, from cars to guns to coins, I could never get enough

I still have a few....lol
I had like 30 hermit crabs too.
And I collected tons of toy cars and stuff.
And pokemon cards, of course.
One time I let all the hermit crabs loose on the grass and some got lost =(

I still have the rocks though, I loaded my pockets with rocks on my way back from Australia when we went to a mine on a P2P Trip. But Coins seem to be the most interesting to me, especially the Barber Series (Quarters and Halves), and Silver Trimes. |

It's quietly resting in a Safe Deposit Box at bank for the time being, which is cheaper than a Laser Defense System and Lead Lined Vault!
