The women's one is out early according to this news clip...
Up to 22 million 25-cent coins celebrating the men's hockey gold medal at Salt Lake City in 2002 are now in circulation. In a unique twist, three million of these coins were produced in brilliant colour and inserted randomly into circulation coin rolls.
The coins are available exclusively at RBC branches and participating Petro-Canada locations.
Canadians can also look for these special coins in their change. Participating Petro-Canada locations will also sell sport cards, containing a uniquely painted version of the coin for $7.95.
The men's hockey gold medal at Salt Lake City in 2002 was voted by fans as the No. 1 Canadian Olympic Winter Games Moment of all time - out of 10 moments - in an online contest hosted earlier this year by the Mint and Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium. The top three moments will be featured on 25-cent coins. Coming in at No. 2 was the Canadian women's hockey gold medal at Salt Lake City 2002, followed by Cindy Klassen at No. 3 and her five long track speed skating medals at Turin 2006.
The coins marking these two moments will be launched into circulation on November 17, 2009, and January 5, 2010, respectively

I'm not sure which calendar you are using, but mine says it is only Nov. 11, 2009.

Sorry, just having my first coffee and noticed that you did say 'early'. I need to stop posting until I have my morning coffee.

Alright can't wait to get mine at Petro-Canada. I purchased the Men's Hockey moment a couple of weeks ago. Haven't seen any in circulation yet though. But then again, If I don't buy stuff I don't get change :) Funny how are payment methods change when we start collecting. Try to use Debit card less and pay coffee with a twenty hoping to get lots of change :)

Ok,,,I knew something was up when I got my collector card with this same image last weekend. Does Petro Canada also carry the colourized version? How about the Royal Bank....do they have both versions of this womens hockey much the same way they did with the mens hockey? Thanks

I've been watching for this coin as well.. seems to have leaked out somewhere. The mint's website says Nov. 17th here, as does the Petro Canada website here. I'm guessing someone opened the box early.

I bought a few things at Dollarama today and the clerk gives me change with a near perfect red colored womens hockey quarter. So, yes they're out.

I doubt that there will be any varieties in this issue because the date isn't "on top of" anything.
