Quote:I started mine a month ago and it is a lot of fun. Mine is going to be pretty slow though since I want semi-keys or keys for most of the coins. So far, the only ones of those I have are a 1973 silver Ike, the silver 1976S JFK bicentennial half and a 1949S Ben Franklin half and a 1909S Barber dime. I'm doing the exact opposite, since my budget would never allow me to go with semi-keys and keys. I want non-key dates so I can load up most of my album with attractive looking coins of AU+ quality, some of them will most certainly be toned. I hope to get most of the coins raw, I don't have the heart to break open slabs.

I "finished" mine three years ago. Than I added the gold page, than I changed to all proofs for the moderns, and I am still upgrading the rest of it. Just won on Heritage a AU-50 1861 Half Dime and on ebay a 1831 Bust Dime in XF45, both coins upgrading examples in F-12. Just know going in that a 7070 may never be finished, but I can say there is nothing else in my collection that I am more proud of owning. Go for it - you will have a lot of fun.

This is exactly what I have been doing. A high AU-MS only common date 7070. Just started mine in fact. Here are a few that I have photoed. Would love to see some photos of everyone elses!

You crazy, Nod! Look who's talking Mr. Moe, as you tried to sneak your 1909-s Indian cent in your "Bronze Indian cent" slot!

three year old camera, two sources of lighting (usually sunlight + 1 desk lamp) and a steady hand.

Thanks for all the encouragement everybody. I'll get a 7070 this weekend probably. One more question though. Should I buy the slipcase to go along with the album?

Quote: Should I buy the slipcase to go along with the album? In my opinion, it depends on where you plan to keep the album. The slipcase offers additional (although not total) protection from the environment.

You are going to have a lot of money in this collection before you are finished. Buying a slip cover is a no-brainer no matter where it is stored.

OK, I'll get the slipcase too. Seems like a good investment and doesn't cost much. Thanks.

I will tell you I think anyone who loves coins should start one of these albums. If I hadn't started mine when I did I may not even be collecting coins at all because I was really getting burnt out on Morgans at the time and this really started me loving the hobby while working on it. Even though my album isn't completely finished yet I have been thinking about updating my pictures of my 7070 but just haven't gotten around to it as of yet. I changed my Morgan dollar to a 1878 DMPL VAM-70 since I thought it would better represent my collecting interests than the DMPL Obverse common date example I had in there

Wow that really is a nice set, Brayan1315. I saw it yesterday and was amazed by the quality and eye appeal of some of the coins. Your link doesn't seem to be working now, though.
