I'm just not sure I'll be collecting these. I don't think every year of coins should be a commemorative. Plus I think it will be difficult getting the coins for face value.

Thanks, coretj. I'm glad I don't have to come up with an attractive design for this one. The Flint Hills are awesome, but depicting a huge field of grass on a coin? Ha!

Hey why not collect the Mexican 100 Peso series 1 and series 2. Now that's what I call artwork (series 2).

I'm excited about being able to collect a series from start to finish from circulation. Just today I found my second-to-last D-mint State Quarter. I enjoy being able to fill those empty album holes. I also really like the drawings of the new coins, and I hope the real coins look just as good. Yeah, yet another series may be overkill, but what are you going to do? Oh, I'm going to Yosemite in a few weeks!

FTA: The obverse of each coin features a portrait of George Washington designed by John Flanagan. The portrait has been restored with the original details used on the 1932 Washington quarter to bring out the details and beauty of the original model.
Does this mean that the portrait won't have all those funky hair swirls in it? If you don't know what I mean, compare George's hair on an older quarter with a newer quarter. I don't like the newer ones.

Well I will most likely get the yearly proof sets and silver set that will have these. Then the encircled coin set will have the P&D. I do agree since the banks will not have these they will be harder to get them.

Question will these be in circulation a all? If so I think I will get them as I see them in change I know one think I will not make the mistake of getting the 1st day cover series like I did the State Quarters I have the complete 1st day cover state and territories in 1st day cover albums hope the grand kids can get what they cost me in 20 years.

This is how I read it.

I agree, I am not a big fan of the "spaghetti hair" on the ultra-moderns.

Well just thought I will wait and see how hard these are to locate in circulation I am sure the US Mint will be selling the rolls for a long tome so we should have time to see if we start seeing these in circulation 1st.

Hot Springs Opening Ceremony WOW
For once looks like something may work out for me was just looking at Coin World and saw the Hot Springs National Park quarter opening ceremony will be held at the the National Park April 20th WELL just so happens we will be on our way back from Arkansas Pass Texas to Pennsylvania and going right past Hot Springs Arkansas then. SO I am making reservations there tomorrow at an RV Park and attending the opening ceremony. It said one person can get up to 10 rolls with the Hot Springs National Park wrappers on them. I plan to get 10 rolls and the wife can get 10 rolls.

This will be the 1st time something like this worked out for me.

Can't stand in lines so will have to take my electric mobility scooter along it is a pain but the only way I can do this.

Have to call the National Park tomorrow and make sure this is going to happen April 20th as printed in Coin World.

Well forget how I said 1st time something worked out for me. As you can see from the link to the pictures above our RV is stuck in Orange Grove TX at my brothers. It has rained for 5 days here now and could rain for 5 more days. We are stick in the mud and can't get out till it drys out. We are going to try and get some stone not sure if that will help. We did try boards as you can see them now floating in the water.

Anyway if I now make the National Park Quarter ceremony I Hot Springs AR April 20th it will be a miracle.

So looks like I will not get my 20 rolls of quarters I am so mad was looking forward to this.

WOW good news for me we got the RV out of the mud so we will make Hot Springs after all yes long story but finally got unstuck. So we will get to Hot Springs April 19th.

Not sure if the post office will be open to post mark rolls or not most likely not but hope so.

I am a happy camper again and hope to get 20 rolls of quarters.

I have to admit to being very much impressed with the new look the parks quarters have. Much cleaner and more in lines with a commemorative coin than some of the awful attempts the state ones had.
I might just actually collect these, they have a bit of class.

I'm still struggling with the best way to proceed with these.
Getting Biz. strikes from circulation "in the wild" could be next to impossible for some of these potentially being a very low mintage throughout the 11 year run.....and getting them in BU condition is another problem....and getting both Mints would be the third problem.

I don't want to pay the US Mints premium for the 100 coin Bags.... OR ....the Two Roll Sets.....and then "PLUS" shipping and handling every single time a new one comes out.......
Either way......
That's an awfully EXPENSIVE PROPOSITION TO PLAN ON DOING FOR THE ENTIRE 11 YEAR PROGRAM ! .....

Decisions should be made very soon on what one wants to do with a collection of these....
I certainly don't know how or what " I " want to do with them yet....
