Another AG-3 Details - it looks like its been scrubbed, but I'd take it any day for what he paid for it!!!!!

I don't know, I think it will come back AG-3 original. When grading a coin this worn surface scratches don't really effect the grade in my opinion.

Erring on the AG-3 Details side, for the scratches.

Absolutely AG-3, though! Reverse rim is gone.

* "Liberty" on obverse fully visible.

* Almost all letters and stars on reverse visible.

FR-2 would have more of the "United States" and "Quarter Dollar"
reverse lettering missing, and the tops of the "Liberty" letters
on the obverse would be worn level with the edge.

imho, this is not a problem coin from what I can see. The scratches look like circulation marks to me(not cleaning), and the rim bumps seem minor enough to be allowable at this grade. It appears to have a fair amount of crust too. I am on the fence between FR2 and AG3. I am leaning slightly more towards FR02, mostly because other AG3s that I have seen have a tiny part of the lower loop of the "6" visible, and more obverse beading detail. It's still really close though..lol. Thanks all for your inputs, and keep voting. :-)

It looks like "Fair2" is leading the charge with "AG3 details" close behind. So this brings me to another question. Which would you rather have, a Fair-2 problem free coin, or an AG-3 problem coin? Personally, I'd prefer the FR02 problem free designation.

As would I, but I am crossing my fingers for a straight up AG3

I'd say it's fair, but I think it will come back as about good.

Nod, if you check your online status, they should post the grades way before you actually receive the coin. I'd be surprised if you didn't have them by tommorow.

ANACS says AG3, but I don't know if they would specify if it is a details grade on the site or not, so I will have to wait for it to arrive to know that I think.

CONGRATS MAN! As long as there is no alpha numeric in front of the "3" on the grade sheet, it is problem free.

No alpha numeric, just a plain 3.
