I'll be out of town tomorrow so THE ANSWER IS

1921-Morgan
I think everybody did great.....
Its a nice strike, graded by PCI, some years ago..as of late there has been a trend in the past year where the grading has tighten up considerably......probably to keep the current investors prices stable, rather than let MS65 and up grades enter the market place and devalue there investments....but that will be another thread....
I think this coin is MS64++ making MS65 and up quadrupples exponentially from MS64 @ $41 to MS65 @150, MS66 @ 930 to MS67 @13,000
as one can see the coin effects the over all population and value any time a new sheep enters the flock....

By today's standards I would say 64. too much chatter on the face imo and what looks to be a few deeper scratches.

I dont know how that lonesome carbon spot at the top of the hair would be perceived though. From what I understand, carbon spots are GENERALLY not allowed at 65 and up.

but pci 65 is still pretty delicious. nice coin

I wouldn't buy that as a 65. Then again, I wouldn't ever buy a PCI slab. No offense.

Thats awesome for $25! Whether its higher than 64 depends on whether those 'marks' are very superficial or actually marks IMO

The price was right so if it dropped I'm still good..I have few MS65 coins to go by, and even then some look flawless and then some can be slightly baggy, This one leans to slightly baggy.. Either way I'm $30 ahead in grading costs or more!!

Well I think that it is an awesome coin Gene, and pictures would probably show even better without the plastic slab that masks it.

Just be sure that you don't perpetuate the act because of my careless words. At least it is safe where it is, even if you can't get a perfect photo. (Photos were pretty good though, I just thought that maybe some of what we may have been seeing is on the case rather than the coin).

Well, I'm a newbie but, my interests have been in Morgans. I love your coin and, if you want to part with it, I'd take it. :-)

Hi, Thanks for the offer, but This one will go into my collection.. Unless you have the money and want to pay full retail prices it
just takes patience to find a good deal at the right price and grade condition.. As a new person to CCF or to collecting in general, a lot of money can be spent on coins that are not the value you are paying. Overpaying one grade point alone can be $30 to $1,000 price difference you can never get back....Be PATIENT and welcome

I'm with the 64 crowd. Though there are no major marks, general scruff will limit it below gem status.

I'm kinda like Gothic Florin. In anything but an NGC, PCGS, or ANACS holder, I'm trusing my own judgement. I would have put the coin at 63/64. $18 bucks tops to buy this from someone bringing it to a show. However, for $25 I don't think you can go wrong. It's still silver and you can always put it in a safe and wait for the economy to ................?
