If we all did, not just about coins either.

$.05 is always my target price for unknown dates in bulk. one of my local dealers separates the bin wheaties into bins of teens, 20s, 30s and 40s/50s and charges .13, .09, .06 and .04 respectively. One cool thing though is they have a "clear the bin" price. If you take the whole bin with out searching you get them all at .10, .07, .05 and .035 each. Pretty good deal imo. Its nice when your roll filling and needs a lot of 20s, I find its worth the slightly higher amount. the nice part is they dont search to heavily. I've found a handful of Teens with MM.

well, they're still not here, lol... I will email the seller later today, and see when they shipped- the "bay's" not been so good to me in the last couple weeks.. slow shipping, not as described.blah blah. 2 transactions I've sent back recently, and 2 neg's I've had to leave for others... they can't all be winners
this one.. even at .05 each I can't complain- as long as I get them LOL

well of course I'm happy with being crazy.. OK got them today.. a truly searched lot- oh well, I can put almost a full 40s-50s P&D set together with a few S mint's too 500 LWC's.... 1 teen (1919-S) a '27 , a '2? (so worn it's a 20-something) maybe 10- 30's, and 480+ 40-50's - there's a 57 or 58 with lamination issues i'll have to check out later a guy at work wants 2-3 rolls, I told him as soon as I got them, i'd put together the best possible ones to give him the most dates and mint marks... for cost i didn't spend 8-10 bucks a roll for " unsearched " , and I'll be able to start his collection, so all in all, I'm fine with how it turned out

I got a great deal a long while back from someone claiming they were selling their grandparents coins, guy stated they were unsearched- and from the pictures when I initially bid I believed they were. I paid $60 for 35 rolls plus $6 for shipping not bad. The coins arrived and these things had obviously been sitting around for a long time just from how the wrapping looked- and the ends were nice and tightly crimped. Not newly rolled to be sure... so I started searching through and found a lot of nice wheats and a lot from the 10s and 20s surprisingly (more than what you would normally find now in an unsearched lot), good mix from the 30s, 40s and 50s as well. Needless to say I found some wheats that were worth some money- not going to get into that now. I let the guy know that I was happy with what I found and bought a few more rolls he located after I bought the initial auction and more good stuff to be had. The only time I was truly happy and believed the seller regarding unsearched. Anymore- folks should know that 99.9% of unsearched auctions are not unsearched.

it's great to hear you got some good coins i went into this deal knowing I wasn't going to find anything super, but for the price, I wasn't going to pass them up.. the seller never claimed they were unsearched, just some old rolls of wheats.. the truly searched was more tongue in cheek than anything else mostly 40s and 50s is fine with me, as long as I can check for errors,RPMs, RPD's, and the like was fun waiting for them, and even better coming home from work to find them tonight- I had a nasty day before work even started, and come on it's work.. i wasn't expecting the coins to be here for another day or 2, so walking in tonight- and seeing THAT package.. I almost made my doggie dog wait to go out LOL she went outside, did what she had to do, came in got a full bowl of food, some fresh water, and enjoyed her meal while I ripped open LWC rolls the only thing I did was date search.. now the fun begins i have 500 opportunities to find something interesting !

Good to hear you were happy Twin- the MM's I got from the teens and 20s in my unsearched lot were great and in great shape. I have a lot of wheat cents I should consider submitting for grading but it would cost an arm and a leg to grade the ones I want. One in particular needs to be graded and certified and I'm not going to say which one :) There were also a lot of Indian Head cents in those rolls too which was a nice surprise. This was some ole boy who lived up in Wisconsin I believe. I loved finding the nice steel cents too, I always love seeing that silver color staring back at me when I open a roll of cents. Oddly enough the last few trips to the bank when I've bought rolls of cents I've gotten quite a few steelies and wheaties. Times are tough and people are cashing in their cents.
