Welcome to the forum!

There's nothing too spectacular in the list. DD's for 1955 and maybe some large and small dates to look for in 1960 and 1982. Filled die errors, most times, don't bring a very large premium but, there are error collectors out there. The Whitman books are blue. Nothing really "official" except that they are "officially Whitman" folders. If you keep them you can always start collecting and go backward from 1928. You can get most of them circulated pretty regularly. There may be some tricky key dates and low mintages but, the others are still available. Let us know what you're planning on doing and what you collect. Again, welcome to our wonderful Coin Community Family.

Thanks sn31 and dsking. Yeah, I am going to try to fill those spots up (but I think getting a 1943 penny will be a thing LOL). As far as what I collect, I just started 4 days ago LOL I started with error coins. :)

Thanks! I am sooooo confused in reference to "double die". I've seen some pictures and I'm going...WHAT? Where?! LOL Honestly, unless it's an obvious double die, I think I would totally miss it.. :(

Hi suvoth

That is alot of typing !!

for the cents you have listed ,, most of the value would be in the very high grade and Error/ Varieties.

Its cool that your going to go ahead and complete the set, By the way the 1943 coins listed in the whitman folder do not include the copper variety, but are the three Steel cents and they are easily found.

If I can be of any Help let me know, I will do what Ican !!

Welcome to the forum !!

Rick

Thanks Rick :) Maybe you can help me out..I read somewhere about the 1984 "ear" doubling. I have a 1983 Penny and the ear does look like it sticks out more...but how can I tell for sure? I can't seem to spot "double dies" :(

Its The 1984 that has ear doubling, and the reverse on the bottom of 1983 could have doubling on the word one cent, als 1997 has a second ear error th 1972 has a double face image, and 1998 to 2000 there are close and far variteies(or The A an M in america)If they touch they were struck with dies to produce mint staet coins if they are seperate they used proof dies on those paticular years and of course th big on 1955/55 you will notice it If you have one . There are earlier and later die states to that error which show some sort of doubling Called the poor mans Double Die. alos I think uptill 198o's ish They hand punched the mintmarks on the coinns so you can find many errors there S/s S/D sideways mint mark upside down etc.. (For example 1956 D/D Denver/ Denver) Good luck In your collecting And I hope I will be seeing you on the forum for some time . enjoy and welcome

Hi suvoth

The 84 doubled ear is most easily seen on the lobe, the second image is easy to see, the 83 Lincoln is a reverse Doubled Die and affects the lettering it is also easy to spot if you have one there will be little doubt.

Try this page for a little more info on errors .
