I just started again after a haitus since 72. Started searching cents mainly, because I wasn't getting any silver at all. Bought a few boxes at the bank over the last few months. Saw a thread about the 1988 reverse 89. got curious, so I looked it up. Well, I sort into paper cups by year, then take a look at like coins. YES I did find a 1988 D DRV 006 in the cup of 88's ! No one in my house could verify it, so I took it to a local dealer. He wasn't even aware of the variety so I showed him the Wexler and the Lincoln Resource sites that featured the coin. He agreed that I had the one. Has been sent for attribution and grading. I have researched this coin for a week straight now and believe it to be worth thousands of dollars if not 5 figures even. I belueve it will prove to be the key to the LMC collections as more and more people become aware of it.

Nice going there. Around me all the banks tell me they are not allowed to deal with half dollars any more. Any that come in are sent out to the main office or Federal Researve. And they can't even order them for customers anymore.

I'll be off the web for a while as I catch a flight to Florida (just kidding). As Bill Engvall would say, "Now that's awesome!!"

He had a great score! BTW, commemorative half finds are not that uncommon. The other forum I'm on, at least 3 Stone Mountains have been found this month, commems pop up all the time, because collections get dumped all the time. ffd
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

FL is hit or miss. Most of the snowbirds are up North right now - but start coming back in September. I suspect I'll see alot of Canadian cents in boxes again then, although todays box had 18 Canadians and 21 Wheats.
During last winter - I did pretty well with silver wars and halfs via roll searching. Not much lately though.

Here in Las Vegas, I am seeing a better mix of cents now in the rolls I search. I guess tourists bring them from all over ? I even got a 1947 Canadian ML pointed 7 from a roll last week ! To update the 88/89 D. I guess only about 12-13 have surfaced so far ? Looks like it might be the key transition to the LMC collections. Feel real good about that one. John1, will keep you updated if I can figure out how to use the e-mail. Somehow my Win7 is associated with email ? Go figure. New Computer, so I need to figure it out.
