Wow. What history that is. Thats what "gets" me about this thread. So many served in those countries, including some of my own relatives of course, just like almost everyone elses relatives, or even themselves did in here. I'm enjoying seeing these as I'm sure a lot of others are enjoying too.

They are from my grandfathers army album. There are many more, and alot of great pictures, my favorite is him with General Eisenhower. Theres another signed photo of General Eisenhower as well. My mom just showed me this album today.

My other grandfather was in the Vietnam War and said he has alot of Yen notes to show me next time I visit him. Are any of these types of notes ones I should have graded to preserve them or are they ok being in these photo albums.

Great stories ;)
I wish I could help you with some information but I don't know anything about foreign monies or values or anything. I'm sure lots of people in here will tell you all about your paper money though.
Its so interesting, and I always find it moving when there's that human history and sentimental value. Many relatives (all canadian of course) landed in Normandy. Many came home. Some didn't. It's interesting for me to see the other countries and France money for the troops because of knowing about Normandy and my relatives serving there, and some at rest there, so your story struck me personally and I just had to check your thread out :) Thanks for posting! Good luck with solving your money mysteries ..... and finding out how to preserve them. You have an awesome family history archive there, including Vietnam

Just a thought here bvalania - Separate it by "Military Currency" and "regular / country currency" once you get to your grand parents collection.
There are quite a few knowledgeable folks on this topic here and am sure someone will chime in.
