I just received seven more, all the way from Riga (whether from a nice lady or a burly guy, I can't tell). NWseeker, on ebay you can find them priced reasonably - don't go after the first one you see, though - compare prices.
Now I just need five more types, that's until they mint more designs.
Thanks jgfindring on starting me on this enterprise!

I have been drooling while reading over this thread and I must have some sweet lats!

---Be aware that the Lats are living on borrowed time, because Latvia is keen on entering the Euro zone. Currently, it is expected to happen 2014/2015.

Except that these days nobody would seriously make a schedule. Too many ifs, whens and whoknows. ;) And even if they did, Latvia could continue that series: 1 lats is about €1.40, so why not some €2 commem ...

Indeed, they could continue the series. However, that would then be EUROS, not Lats

There is a new 1 lats for 2011, with an overflowing beer mug on the obverse. Bet it's going to be a very popular coin. Can't find an image I can upload though (my lack of expertise, not lack of images on the internet) but have ordered one, so my collection of circulating modern 1 lats will soon be finished! 21 lats!

Yes, that beer mug I have too. Fun coin, although some in the country criticized the theme as promoting the consumption of alcohol ... Anyway, this is the piece, minted in Utrecht/NL (image from the central bank):

Bringing this old thread back up, as Latvia issued a new coin in this series, a 2012 Christmas bells coin.

If I did it right, here's a link to a picture.

You did that right, it seems. :) Another option is to embed the image here, as you did in an earlier post ...
