fcrazo, thats terrible. I talked with a woman this weekend at the ACC show who once had over $100,000 of jewelry and coins stolen from her from the parking lot of a show.
By the way, were you at the Alamo coin show this weekend? I looked for you by name tag but never found you

I'm sorry for your loss. Sounds like you have a great local support system. With some luck the crook(s) will be nabbed and your property returned.

Sorry Matt, I was walking around talking to dealers, and visitors. I was doing PR for the club. San Antonio and the surrounding area is fantastic. I had a huge Mexican Revolution exhibit utilizing 11 display cases.

PUT A AD ON CRAIGSLIST WE BUY COINS AN IN THE NEWSPAPER
See if someone turns up to sell your coins off to you
With out any identifying markers on the coins it will be hard to prove they were yours
unless the thief leaves them inthe graded plastics

Words don't do justice to angry this makes me.
I can relate as just a month ago, we got burgalarized and thieves stole over $300 of power tools. (including one really old saw my grandfather bought 60 years ago)
Still, not nearly as bad as what's happened to you, and I REALLY hope you can recover at least some of your coins.
Hope the perps get to rot in prison.

They stopped having a show that was close to were I live. Because the area got so bad and dealers were getting robbed at the show. A few years back a major error dealer got robbed in MD for 100k +. At the Baltimore show they have security everywhere and I hate to say it but maybe you need to hire private security. Hope you find the maggots who robbed you and can get your coins back.

Very sorry to hear that! At least you escaped with your life.
I don't know what CA gun laws are like, but your story is one of the reasons I have a concealed carry permit.

If the perp is yielding a weapon, a concealed carry permit owner is allowed to defend himself when in fear for his life. Showing a weapon to me and threaten me WILL get you shot before you even realize what has happened. I can draw and accurately shoot in about 1 second (lots of range practice) and I'm in my right to do so given the above situation. I really, really hope I never have to, but I am very well prepared to do so. One of these days that perps luck is going to run out when he tries to rob the wrong guy. There's a LOT of us gun guys out there that are well trained and fast, accurate shooters. |

Concealed carry permits are almost non-existent where I live in Cali., and they're very difficult to get. I have one. Like you, I hope and pray that I'll never ever have to use it. But I am prepared to do so if I ever have to. fcrazo...my apologies for the semi-hijack...I am sorry for your loss. |

Luckily fcrazo and I are both from Texas where we love our guns as much as our coins. Gun laws, we dont need no stinkin gun laws! |
