Jim, I thought of you when I read that the storm was near the Carolinas. Glad it's gone now. That's one of ther nice things about living in western Colorado. No hurricanes! Or tornadoes, tropical storms, storm surges, etc. I should amend that. About once every 10 years we get a huge cloudburst. Had one a couple weeks ago, and part of my side yard was washed down the hill. Wwe get eight inches of precipitation a year on the average. The storm mentioned dumped about four inches in two hours. Similar to what I've seen when vacationing in Florida. Maybe Al Gore is right?!

Hey Jim, I've been to your little corner of the world to watch my grandson play ball. Nice community.... Thanks for taking the brunt of it, if anything happened here I slept through it. Looked around this morning, maybe a few extra leaves from my neighbors trees. ps I did survive ice storm 98 up on the NY/Canadian border if that counts.

Hey Jim Glad to hear you made it alright. Not much as for high wind on my side of the county, but did have much rain. Just glad it wasn't a strong one. Been through a couple of those. Don't like'em.

Ernesto had a lot of rain in it for sure. We didn't get much wind though. They said we would be getting 70mph sustained. It never happened. Heck, the beer drinkers down in the Keys produced more wind than that storm did, a least for us. What about Floyd 1999? I think that one put out so much rain that 250,000 hogs drowned in the Carolinas. At least that's were the papers were claiming.

You are right about the weather in Colorado compared with the stuff they are having down south. I was going to say though, so that is what they call a hurricane in Florida. Heck up here its only a nice breeze! Must have something to do with the elevation. As for Al Gore being right, not a chance unless this happens to be another one of his inventions like the internet, or something.

As Far as I know that was true I think that was my first Major one. Comming from the great lakes I have never had to deal with those. I was working as a sub- contarctor on the Outerbanks and The place I was at only has access by going down the beach. I rode with the guy I was working for that day. The beach which used to be 100 or so feet away was know hitting his door panels .. whewwww I was happy to get home.. another 2 hrs away that took 5 hrs.

I was thinking about all of you in the path of the Hurricanes and am glad that all seem to be OK! It rains sideways in AZ quite often (that is when it rains) but, the winds aren't nearly as strong. That's just the way it rains here - really strange.
I remember the blizzards and ice storms in the 70's in Ohio. I survived the blizzard of 78/79 by being marooned in D.C. Hey, I just visited the Smithsonian! My car was buried when I got home to about 1 foot on the top is all that I could see.
Colorado? Eh, just little bitty snow storms - no biggee!
Keep us all posted as the Season progresses!
Be Safe!
