That is one beautiful coin Dottir! And I'm quite sure the sender would be happy it had even more features and wouldn't expect a return

Congrats on you find. I'm having the same problem finding this date. My goal is to acquire the Elizabethan Half Dollar series from 1953-1967 in I.C.C.S., MS-65 and the only one I have left to acquire is the 1954. Maybe someone out there may have knowledge on the whereabouts of one, if so, let me know! Glenn

I have SO many coins to check over closely still, so I have a lot of work on my plate, and coming posts to do in CCF about coins I received from others recently too. I'm so far behind in EVERYTHING right now with my computer death and being without for so long, and now I can't get at all my files and photos so having to rebuild all my programs and files/photos from scratch as I go ... and behind and busy with all thats happened plus Christmas season stuff ... so will be slow for a while yet.
I really do love my 50 cent 1954 piece a whole lot. Plus it's my very FIRST and ONLY 50 cent piece I own, so a pretty milestone coin for me.
Any 50 cent piece collectors in here? Do you have a favorite piece?

By the way, I've had this sneaking suspicion that a few of you were in the know about this surprize 1954 to me from Scooby long before I was surprized when it arrived Correct me if I'm wrong about that

With the price of silver the pre 1967 canadian fifty cent pieces should go up.The older pieces like the 1888,1890,1894,1899,1921,1932and 1948 are missing in my collection.I have every NewFoundland fifty cent pieces.

Hi David, you have a nice collection of 50 cent pieces then if you're only missing so few years. With the 1954 I haven't seen any shoulder fold AND no shoulder fold varieties mentioned. Must only be shoulder fold for that year. BTW, thank you again Forum Mama Susan for changing my avatar for me, and so quickly at that!!
