Seriously, though, they do have "coins" that talk or play music. Here's "Mongolian" 500 tugrik which recites a part of JFK's speech. In German!

Edit: all you need is push a button. I wonder how one'd replace a battery!

Personally, I think it's kinda creepy to have a coin with a voice that says "I am a jelly donut!"

Here are more useful "coins". One could use these as manipulatives in a preschool Math class!

Yeah, I'd get one just to send it to a TPG for slabbing! . The cylinder looks cleaned - someone polished the top.

I wonder if the one on the far left comes with a COA that Madonna wore it as a stage prop in the late '80's?

Nope, sorry, wrong size!

But Baron Münchhausen flew on the second one into the Turkish army base-camp.

That pun makes sense in West Germany, but not where he said it. :)

Issued in 2008 from the Somali Republic. I think it had to do with " the year of math" or something like that. Definitely different.

More odd pieces ... "from" Palau and the Cook Islands this time.

"At first glance this coin seems plain but by touching the coins surface it reveals its surprise - a newly hatched chick appears. A complex printing process using thermo-colours makes this 'enchantment' possible. As if touched by a ghostly hand the image disappears when the colour cools down. (Thermo-colour print with hidden picture. Effect can be done approx. 100 times.)"

"Partially coloured - with sea breeze fragrance. Rub the wave then you can literally smell the danger. Effect can be done approximately 60 times."

That's OK! Then to the dump she goes and you buy a new one!

I wonder if they could be graded according to how much umph they have left?
