No, but I am due, ain't I?

Yeah it does, but it's really on the coin.
Maybe someone that had it before was playing a joke. Brown Ike is Blue Ike? Does the holder look like it was tampered with? It is a nice looking color.

Trying to make an image of IKE look "Almost Pretty" is a big ask. lol
Your point that it was a GSA went over my head. Could you tell me what is a GSA?

Found in a vault somewhere (or a desk drawer, who knows) then sealed and sold....

I always wondered what the brown "simulated wood" box--that only the U.S Mint could dream up--looked like. Maybe it just toned that way from being in the box for 30+ years? But it is an interesting twist--A "brown Ike" that's blue. Was Crystal Gale the former owner? "Don't it make my brown Ikes blue"

GSA (General Services Administration) Gov't agency that has dispersed coins in the past, along with many other items.

I noticed you have a 1972 with the same coloring (just not as intense) in your auction of 5 Ike Proofs

I like the looks of that one, Bobby. I have a few Cook Islands coins that "hazed" in a nice blue like that.

Doesn't do much for me but then, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Or so they say.

I like it. It's a cameo of a dirrent color, so to speak. I'll bet you could do pretty well on ebay with that coin.

Oh Oh, no blue haze on either 1972 Ike that I have on ebay. But I see what you mean, it looks like some blue by the date. That is a reflection, possibly of me or my camera.

Ikes normally don't do much for me, but that's a nice looking one you've got there! There's something out there for everyone. Rachel

So, can anyone tell me how it came to be that colour? I kind of like it, it's very unusual, and as they say - blue is the new black!

What about commemoratives... should it be left in the original mint packaging or should be certified so the coin itself is protected?
