Maybe we ought to form our own CC grading service and line our pockets from all these fools who get suckered into buying these super over-graded coins. I'd be happy to upgrade my MS-64 and -65 Morgans to MS-70.

Some day, aboncom is gonna sell the wrong coin to the wrong person for too much money and find himself facing a judge vis a vis ACG and Ney.

Look what I stumbled upon as I was searching for empty proof set packaging for one of our new members:
SGSenterprise

Apparently, this ID is for items that are not actually graded by Steve's Gift Shoppe.

I am fortunate that I learned how to grade before even the Sheldon scale, so my only real weaknesses now are modern coinage and gold (which I am learning as rapidly as I can).

Where would I find an older version of this book? Also, would you recommend getting a Red Book as well? And if so, a new one or older one?

Thanks

He should call his ebay business Abon-CON because that's what he does!
He seems to have turned conning people into an art form!

You can try Amazon here:
Photograde on Amazon

I believe the most current edition is the 19th edition.

My local bookstore has an older copy of photograde. Check to see if your bookstore has a copy in the collectibles section.

Susan,

I see the 19th edition of Photograde is copywrighted in 2005. Would this be ok, or is the 18th edition better? the copywrite is more like 1995 on that one.

Haven't posted in a long time!

But Fred, I think having our own CC Grading team, it'll be great publicity, maybe get sponsers from ANACS.

Sorry, I know I haven't been around much. Working a lot of hours and got sick. The 2005 edition should be okay. It was in 2006 that I saw the changes being made to the standards.

Susan
I am sick much of the time that is why I am dis-carted by society as unfit to work full time ( I got allergic dysfunction )
I am nobody to give advice but I only got a little better when I quit the rat race
Or what you Americans call keeping up with the Joneses .

Nowadays I only try to work enough to keep afloat financially .
My wife got Fibromialgy and is as good as invalid

I know I have been accused of malingering and being caustic and being a cynic but believe me ; happiness is more then money and more then respect from the neighbours who are undeserving to pass judgement

So I can feel your pain ; I have been there and do not want to go back again

Ageka, since Bobby and I work for ourselves, it's not too bad. This is just an extremely busy season for us. It's nice to be able to pay the bills without feeling sick every time the mortgage is due, though.

If it wasn't for the fact that I'm still suffering some effects from the chemo treatments, I think I'd be fine.

I agree with you 100% about the rat race. I stopped caring about society's opinion a long time ago. Peace and happiness are all that matter to me now. Unfortunately, I have to be able to pay the bills if I want to feel peaceful...

Susanlynn
I understand completely
At one time the last year I was working full time ; I was 100 miles from home and the gaspump machine said my bankcard was maxed out at minus 2000 dollars and the attendant refused checques . So this being Belgium I had one unused debit mastercard and I was lucky to find a station that would give me gas on the mastercard .

From there on I got fired two months later and reduced expenses by 42% over a 12 months period struggling all the way with the "this is not done " concept
eg Untill they rearended me a year ago I had a 15 year old car that had not been washed for the last 4 years and we were both to sick to do it and a carwash outside and inside cleaning costs 20$

I managed to hang on to half of my coincollection and next year the government willing I will retire getting free access to my extra legal pension fund

I surely hope that your busy season is profitable to the same extent it is busy

Hmmmm I hope Aboncom does not mind we stopped
negging it; him ; her

I'm so sorry that things have been so rough. I hope this next year will go much better and you'll be able to retire happy and peaceful. At least you were able to hold on to some of your coins.

And, yes, I have many blessings to count - not the least of which is that our profit is in proportion to how busy we are.

Wow, I hope things go better for both of you! It's sad to hear about your health problems, but you both seem to have pretty good attitudes about it.

Now, back to trashing Aboncom!! More, More, More!!
