I agree these are some of the most beautiful pieces out there. I have only seen the one ounce piece I did not know they had fractional in silver.

Totally sweet! Love the Britannia designs from 2005, 2007, 2008, and the 1999/2009 Chariot. The four coin sets generally are under 3,000 sets total and sell for between $400-$600US when found, and IMO, a steal at that price. It's too bad the Silver Eagle doesn't have a rotating design like the Britannias, although the 2010 and 2011 designs aren't comparable to the earlier dates. |

Beautiful coins, Bryan, thank you for sharing! The Una and the Lion design is such a 'Euro'-centric coin that if GB ever abandons the pound and issues a Euro coin, that would be it. It is too bad the Britannias are not better known in the US. The limited mintages of the Britannia proof sets means they are never found at any coin show, other than as curiosities. A shame really, since they make good matching sets to the platinum eagle proof sets of the 2003-2008 vintage. |

The Royal Wedding coins look good, but with so many other items on my 'want list' it will be a while before I get any. I have a 2007 proof set in the mail which I didn't know The Royal Mint even made as a few sites I visited listing Britannia mintages had the 2007 as none! |

Wow, that chariot coin is amazing. The female figure on the Britannia's must represent this lady below I would think possibly, any one know for sure? Boudica of the Iceni, to sum it up real fast, she was flogged by the Romans and her daughters raped. Rome moved on to conquer more land, underestimated the Celt tribes which remained, she united them in one common cause, kill the Romans. And the Roman's paid dearly for their mistakes. She basically wiped out 10's of 1000's of Romans (both soldiers and citizens), before meeting and falling to a much smaller Roman army of about two legions, who basically were not going to sail back to Rome and tell the the emperor Nero they lost England. Ten thousand Romans took on a force of unknown numbers, many believe in access of 100,000, but Boudica lost control, they rushed in, the Romans boxed them selves in on three sides by forest, each of the ten thousand had about 3 pilum's (throwing spears), and that devastated the charging poorly armoured Celts, and the Roman Gladius finished off any that hit the shield wall there after. Boudica and her daughters took cyanide to avoid Roman capture. Those are all amazing pictures guys, and I am convinced they are a smart investment. I like many designs, but there is just something mystique about those Britannia's, and I don't even have one yet. There was one that just ended at 55 total, like the gold plated one above design, minus the gold, via the female standing warrior, shield and pitch fork scene, with the lion at the side. I am saving for a 1 10th gold eagle, and like most waiting to see just how low silver might go, or I would have grabbed it....
I will say $55 seems like a good price for that coin, as I bet you will not be able to find it at that price much longer....
