how old are the bills they are giving you?

You are so lucky to have someone save them for you. Do you live in a small town for more personal service? Do you reward the employees for their extra work?

yes I live in a very small town with about 25-35,000 people here. As far as how old the bills are most are from the 70's but there are some older and a few from 2003, but most are from 1976 and down. I have about 15 1928 gold certificate in consecutive numbers and have 3 1950 consecutive numbers and a few others from 1950 thats not consecutive, I have a few red seals also one is a 1928c red seal and the rest are from 1963. But most of them are from 1976 as I said before

If the bills are uncirculated I would say thats a great price. One thing is for certain the older dates aren't being printed now so if you get a chance to pick up a few, at that price, I would do it!

I haven't even thought of a $2 bill in quite some time. I had a few stuck around in places but no real effort was being made to collect them. After reading these posts on $2 bills I decided to try and obtain a few for tips and surprise the youngsters around here. So I went to the bank and ask if I could get some $2 bills. The answer was: "yes, how many do you want?" I said how many can I get from you and she said, "if it's not over 3,000 dollars worth, I can fill your order" Ended up buying $40 dollars worth and tomorrow I start spending them. this should be some fum.

These were all brand new notes and came off of the stack in order of their printing. Ended up with a couple of good poker hands with these numbers. Kind of hate to fold them!

I just went and got a job at a bank so I can have access to all the good stuff that comes in and I dont have to worry that way about having a bank save stuff for me, I can just save my own stuff. Its been so much fun so far I have found stuff in just the little time since I started. I'm sure it can only get better

Maybe this is what I need to do at the Mint! Suppose they would let me take home some samples?

It's always fun to pay for anything with $2 notes. It's fun watching their reaction, especially the young kids. I've had quite a few cashiers ask their managers if the currancy is legal before accepting the money. It almost always gets a reaction. Even from the older folks too. It's a lot of fun!!

Thanks for all the ideas guys. I am going to go the bank after the holidays and see if someone would also watch for items of interest for me too. Happy Holidays to all.
