I guess the ads are cool for the first few times but I imagine I would get pretty borer with them. The ads would certainly give a good indication of the market and current values but at some point I'm looking for news more so than market trends.

I would want to see more articles and fewer ads in there. Many articles in there are fun to read though.

Is there a good coin magazine on the market that is worth getting?
Thanks KC

I have one issue of Coin World. I, too, found that it is bombarded with advertisement. But at least it's geared correctly and it's not some laser spa treatment ads. They're interesting to look at, though.

I do not subscribe to it, but I will pick one up occasionally. Usually when I am in an airport.

Do you folks here prefer the paper copy or have you gone all digital with your magazines?

I don't get the weekly issues anymore, since I hardly ever read it cover to cover. The monthly issue is good, not bad subscription price of $19.99/12 issues. The great irony here is I read the articles online, and have the magazine for the ads! Reminds me of the old joke of buying Playboy for the "articles!"

Quote: Do you folks here prefer the paper copy or have you gone all digital with your magazines? The paper copy. As I mentioned, I usually get them in the airport when I have a long flight that I know will outlast my battery charge. However, if I were to subscribe to it, I would be inclined to get the digital copy.

I get CoinWorld online and hard copy sent to me but not sure what you are asking about. The only real reason I got my subscription was because I wanted some extra copies of the VAM-85 articles that was in there. I guess it was a good thing I did because it was in there 3 times with it being the cover story one time. I do thumb through the books and I really like the coin value books they send about once a month but if it wasn't for the VAM-85 article I probably would never have gotten the subscription

I don't subscribe, I just just buy them once in a while to check the roll prices.

My local coin shop had an extra copy of Numismatic News and gave me a complimentar copy. It was very nice of them to offer me this! It seems to be more coin show oriented than anything: who bought what where and for what price. There were some educational articles and opinion pieces on the market. It's printed on paper that reminds of good comic book paper from the 80's. That's not good or bad - just an observation. The one thing I didn't like is how the ads broke up the articles and had a lot of "continued on pg. xx" directions. -- Boris

Those "continued" pages happen a looooot in magazines and newspapers, though.
