It's hard to tell what is going to sell out. I missed the 2 enamelled coins because for me they were really too expensive. This one was in my budget and I really liked it. Now that I have the coin it looks better than it did in the pictures. Bill Image: beaver1.jpg27.42 KB

Simply beautiful! With a mintage of just 20,000 this was almost a certainty. I hope they'll still be floating around when I can afford one too.

That is a really nice coin! Can you get square coin capsules? Or would you store this in a 2x2 self-adhesive?

I don't hear about the new coin issues either. I have tried a couple of times to subscribe to the RCM Newsletter but never receive anything. I know they will not take orders from outside of Canada (a rediculous policy) but I didn't think they would also apply that to emailing their latest issues news, etc. Wayne

Beautiful coin, and unique. I sure would have ordered one had I known about it.

Thanks Toast. That teaches me a lesson. I really think I read most all the posts in CCF, but obviously I missed that one.

I must say this is one of the nicest coin in my personal collection, and people always react strongly when they see it. This coin is a lot nicer than the pictures can show. I'm also very happy I could get one at the original price. What I heard is that even the RCM was surprised at the success of this one, and was sold out a lot faster than expected. 20,000 is not an ultra-small mintage limit, but I believe it sold out in less than a month. And yes, it now goes for about $150-$190, four months after its release.

Like Brissyboy mentioned already,RCM sucks .Never got a newsletter from them, and when I get an e-mail with the new released stuff,it comes too late. That's my rant, now to add something constructive. This site posts the News Releases for RCM : http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/...i?okey=26887I go there sometimes and I read what their intentions are and I find it way better than the RCM site and specially how they deal with advertising their new releases. It is always that the limited coins ( the enamel, the square one, the 2 oz silver one),don't get mentioned,or when they do it's too late. But I get a lot of other junk that they are trying to promote. Sorry....couldn't help it,the second rant

That is a nice coin indeed. I do have a couple of square coins of my own but good old round ones are still my favourites :)
I see the Canadian mint has the same "annoouncement" issues as our mint. Unless I check often enough, I get to know that some new coins are released after quite some time. Luckily our commemoratives aren't that popular, they usually end up being discontinued rather than being sold out.

Missed out again because I did not subscribe to the Canadian mint. Just signed out so will not miss out again.
