Four Grizzlies with free shipping an airtight's sounds good to me, esp with those being sought after, and unless you have a deal with your local shop where you can get those nice Grizzlies for a buck or two over spot, sounds like great deal as silver is creeping close to 40 again. Those airtight's cost money as well....

This post made me laugh also, considering I just paid $100 for an NGC MS66 FS 43-P Jefferson and $100 for a 1950-D NGC MS67 FT Roosevelt.
At least they are both super nice...so I don't feel too bad.

 I don't think you overpaid, if you bought it because you want to have it, then any price that you are willing to pay is a bargain, if you bought it for investment purposes, well that is a different story. I personally "overpay" all the time  , if I want it, and can afford it, I buy it for my collection. Will I be able to sell it for the same price or higher? No, I won't be able to, but that is not why I bought it in the first place. |

Haha I am not too worried... I'm fairly confident that silver still has a ways to go up, and I have no problem sitting on these for 10 years if necessary...
But I sold some old school books, and some old paintball gear from when I use to okay way back in high school, and had 160$ in my PayPal account...
I really like the Canadian wolves, but I saw these. The auction went exactly up to my Max bid, 201$, whoever tried to outbid me, only needed to add another cent or two, lol

Speaking of impulse buying, I was at a flea market yesterday and a guy had his table out there with a bunch of world coins. And of course I don't carry the standard world coins catalogue around with me at these things. So I saw a 2x2 that said Scotland, 1870. And I thought "oh boy" I don't have any Scotland coins in my collection. So I paid $16, no questions asked. Got home and I see it is a token from some hat company that was in Edinburgh around 1870.

$50 is actually about what people are paying for Silver Eagles or Silver Grizzlies. At present time the spot price and the price people are willing to pay is at about a $13 spread. If you want to buy them now then $50 is what you have to pay unless you have a GOOD friend that bought silver before the rush. It would have to be a good friend because he can sell them all day long for $50 on ebay. Edited by junior e

Yes that is cool ICSY7687 when you win an auction for a penny more than the next highest bidder, as I have lucked out with that a few times, as I always bid a penny more than an even number, like $100.01 for example, and it pays off eventually. The thing about that is, you know you are up a penny, but the other bidders figure you could be up a penny on them, or as much as fifty more dollars depending on the item of course, so that sure helps when everyone else has reached their top amount they would pay for an item, even though they would all fork out another penny to fifty cents, if they knew it was a guaranteed win....

Ya, I know, I still don't like spending such premiums on coins...but usually that premium stays with the coin, so assuming I sell it I should get it back. But APMEX is selling the 2012 grizzlies for 46 PR 47, but their shipping is always expensive. I usually try to stay inside of 10% above spot when I can... Or like I got a 1992 proof AGE for 175, the cheapest UNC I could find was 165, so what's another 10$ for a proof lol |

But I actually got the coins and there were a couple issues.
One of the airtites had a large crack on the side (from where the rim of the coin was), and if you look at the top left coin, theres what appears to be a scratch or smudge. I contacted the guy who sold them to me, and he sent me two airtites. Luckily the smudge was just on the inside of the airtite.
He was really nice. But he just sold another set of 4, for about 30$ less then what I payed for. Haha, but I have no doubt silver will go back up at some point...

Collectors tend to appreciate the art of their collection as well as the financial aspects of it. If we buy something for $100 but get $200 worth of pleasure from owning it, then it was a terrific bargain whether the finance part of it adds to the over-all value or not. I agree that silver prices will likely be higher at some point in the future. That will matter IF you can part with these.  |
