Silverhawk, you make me chuckle! You remind me of another friend of mine(yes,I do consider you a friend)who can't stay on topic if his life depends on it. The really great thing about it is,those are the things that get us into the most interesting discussions. Please don't change,we all need a little joy(and a little chuckle)in our lives.

He he he, yeah Hock I toss that worthless trivial info ever once in a while to see if anyone is paying attention and get a laugh, lol. I am goofy by nature to say the least, my girlfriend, friends, and family would be the first to point that fact out, but in the end I just like to make people laugh, as I think most take life "too seriously", not that one shouldn't at times, but lighten up world I always say, laugh some and have some fun, were all destine for dust, and stuck here in the meantime, so might as well be as comfortable as possible and enjoy life as much as possible while we are here....

I consider Hock and all you guys friends as well, as I don't know many people at all in my everyday life that has an interest in coins and Pm's. And most of us are on the same page so to speak on many views and issues of the world around us all no matter what part of the world we each live....

Here we go his name was Akhenaten....

http://www.lost-civilizations.net/a...fertiti.html

By the way I am not saying I believe the alien junk which is NOT mentioned in this link above (there are other links that theorize his mother had relations with an alien, lol) in this above, but I do think after Atlantis sank, the ones who escaped migrated to several different locations, probably North and Sout America, as well as Africa, and I think that the entire Egyptian dynasty comes from direct decendants from Atlantis....

Edgar Cayce even said there is a secret chamber in-between the feet of the Sphinx underground which contains the ancient scrolls of Atlantis and all their knowledge. Also the Sphinx has major signs of water damage, and it has not rained there in the Giza plateau in 10 thousand plus years, which means the Sphinx is waaaay older than most main stream Egytologists believe. Two scientist named Shock and West have been studing it for years....

Might have skipped a weeeee bit off tracks there again he he he ....

Hopefully it is real gold Ed and you can convert it into silver....

By they way, if those rings are removed, the girls neck does not break, lol. I watched a show on Nat Geo, and watched where a girl had hers removed to get a more comfortable fitting, and the elder lady of the tribe was the expert at removing, adding rings, etc....

However, it must be replaced, because the neck muscles have atrophied, and will not support her head, so she couldn't breathe.

I thought the same thing, but it turns out....

The cost of the rings translates to about 500 dollars, and if a girl commits adultery she looses the rings. And there was another story on same show where a girl sold her rings and was hoping to earn enough money back one day to buy another set, as generally the rings are the most valuable item these girls ever own. Some girls decide to remove for discomfort, as scars around the neck is a common trait from the rings digging into their necks, back problems, etc....

It scares me I know all this, and when Ed scans back through this, I figure some head tilting at the info on his Egyptian hope to be gold ring thread, lol....

Yeah, have it tested and sell it to me, I think it looks awesome. That is pretty cool he gave you this quite an excellent gift IMO.

In fact I have plenty of silver to trade.

It is an interesting piece of jewelry. I checked inside the ring but there were no marks that indicate 14k, 18k, etc. A jeweler would put such a mark there but a north African craftsman might not.

Will probably sell locally if it turns out to be of value. Who knows? Maybe the piece itself has more sale appeal than the gold (?) itself?

Better look into that, could be valuable.

Could be... at least, I hope that it will be.

Indeed... that would be SWEET!

Thanks. Dad is pretty talkative but he didn't say a lot about it. He has a lot of stuff and at age 86 he is interested in getting rid of a lot of it. I guess that he is just tired of having a lot of stuff around all the time. I will ask him if there is any story to it. I'm sure he'd be delighted to tell it to me. Heh, he might even create one!

Actually, believing in aliens is merely a matter of having some appreciation for the size of our galaxy and a bit of study in probability theory. The odds of the Earth having the only intelligent life among the 200 billion or so stars in our galaxy is vanishingly small. Whether or not any such aliens also have interstellar travel is another question. If they get here, then that question is pretty much answered!

We developed eh, and considering the infinite size of the Universe, it would be pretty arrogant of us to think we are the only intelligent life out there agreed....

That it would. I don't know how big the universe is but it very well may be a lot bigger than we know. Our radio and optical telescopes can only see out to around 1600 light years and that isn't all that much compared to what could be there. Our galaxy alone is 100,000 or so light years across and is likely to be one of billions of galaxies. This stuff can make our heads swim!

Rest in Peace

Given a large enough sample, the probability of something unusual happening approaches certainty.

The odds of one person getting struck by lightning are very small, but worldwide, dozens of people are struck by lightning every day.

Well, I wasn't talking about the probability of the existence of another form of life on another planets ....... I was talking about the theory of Aliens visiting the ancient Egyptians and giving them their knowledge, building the pyramids and even breading with them and then going away

Agreed. It's even a lower probability that someone will be hit by a meteorite but that too has happened... a number of times.

OK. But... we don't have any evidence that they didn't do just that, do we?
