Quote: Unique_Antique_gallery:The date says 1986, I find these drawings with ancient arab depictings special. If you are talking about the first coin ..... it is a KM# 34.1 5 GHIRSH (5 Piastres) Key date 1956 ...... this design wasn't issued in 1986

It is a very beautiful coin, thanks for sharing ....... there are two varieties of this proof coin the one Without countermarks with mintage number 1423 and AH1398 with countermarks of B23 in hexagon and bell between dates with mintage number 2000. To determine this you have to see the Obverse

Mine is with the hexagon & bell countermarks, making it the more "common" type.

I only have 6 Sudanese coins. Pretty much the same ones that you have, Amr. However I found out a few weeks ago that one of my customers, who works on a minesite about 2000km from me, is from Sudan, in fact South Sudan now. I let him know that I am a coin collector and was seeking some new coins from South Sudan. He told me about a week ago that his Father is on a plane and heading to Aus and bringing coins with him. So hopefully soon I will have some new coins. Steve

LOL... I told you before you do the two crowns that it is cheaper to do them here in Egypt. You would have spent $170 Australian dollars for each. This means that you would have spent $350 instead of $2400 and used the rest of the money on a nice trip to Egypt. I have a couple of students and a colleague who have completed the Australian board and have landed in Australia more than a year ago .... so the next time you need to go to the dentist tell me and I can get you a nice discount

Thank you, my friend. Do they live anywhere near Perth? Actually, the trip to Egypt sounds like a good idea. Steve
