You've got to be kidding me. And Laura's making at least a million by reselling that finest-known nickel. If I had the money, I'd be jumping all over that coin instead of this one...

I happened to save a snapshot of the item just in case they did close it (which I was sure they would do sooner or later)and someone didn't get a chance to see it

Thanks! I was a little ticked that they went and closed it before I had a chance to see it. WOW must have been a typo! considering the most valuble coin EVER sold for 7.59 million!

Does it ($178 million) mean old Turkish money before they dropped all the zeros?

The seller wants $178 million. Darn, I'm a little short of that amount.

Excuse my ignorance, I should know I guess, but what on earth makes this Jefferson nickel worth that kind of money?

Is this a joke? It's not April 1.

Can anybody explain its value to me?

Yes someone please explane. I too am lost.

The only thing I can think of: The coin was priceless to the seller and he did not want to get rid of it. So he decided to sell it but at a price that would make him feel better about losing his personal treasure

I know everyone has a coin they would not sell for less than millions of dollars because they have a personal connection to the coin.

ps.
(I kept thinking of this guy as I type this message)

it wasn't a joke it was just a mistake on Heritage's part, they have corrected the coin and it is probably already sold by now it was just a find it at the right time to see it before they rectified the mess up

You know you live in a highly inflated economy when it takes 178 million dollars to buy a nickel!!!
