"junior e:
The Health Care Bill will never be fully implemented. For that to happen, the Supreme Court would have to uphold it, AND Obama will have to be re-elected. Both events must occur, because it will be the number one item on the agenda of any conservative president to repeal it."
Man I hope so Lastgold, as I would seriously consider moving out of the country, if what junior said came to be on health I, 900 a month lol. Yeah right, like I could swing that tiny extra bill a month, it is just delusional behavior by Obama an all the other meat-heads beside him to think most people could.....

Well, here in Canada we have health care taken out of our taxes (15% base income tax rate, ~7% provincial income tax, and 5-13% sales tax).
As conservative as I am, I must admit that people here in Canada are reasonably healthy and reasonably wealthy. I don't know what conservative Americans think of our lifestyle, but it isn't all that bad.
In fact, we arguably may have a more conservative government than you guys, by the sounds of what's happening in Washington.

Quote: The Mayan calendar restart next year is nothing different any other calendar rollover.
The problem is that people are making a big deal about NOTHING (like the 2K problem in 1999) and blinding people to what IS REALLY HAPPENING. Basically, I consider the Mayan calendar crap to be a HOAX, or SMOKE and MIRRORS, to HIDE what is really happening. What the hell? I just paid $12.000 dollars in online storage fees, $223.700 on a underground bunker with panorama windows, stocked up on 16 tons of genetically manipulated carrots, got 3 million rounds of ammunition and even a Zombi Gun that just accidentally went off and tased my kid... (that's my story and I am sticking to it as he can't tell the truth, because his tongue burned off from the hot sauce I fed him earlier) I ordered a new airplane, so that I can escape to Fantasy Land when the cloud settles. I've got the Survival kit from Mall Wart for $48.000 Dollars, which includes a towel, a quart of water, a rag and a can of catfood + a 1 Ounce Gold Coin, a 1/2 Ounce Silver Coin and 16 pounds of Copper Bullion, E-Seeds which grow from just looking at them and a WWII Machine Gun from a Tank. Now you are telling me? DUCK!

I'm really excited to hear that health care isn't going to get the "must have" restrictions of auto insurance. Operating a motor vehicle is entirely a personal choice. Existence isn't. I guess Bernanke's wisdom is good for precious metals. At least he's good for something.

Quote: The only thing that might have a hope of changing that is the next election cycle. Indeed. The current government has failed to lead this country in an acceptable direction and that lack of leadership has severely impacted the confidence of the American people in general and the business people in particular. LOTS of people with money are hunkered down right now and avoiding risk at all costs. We are waiting for the idiocy in DC to end and for reasonable people to take over. Failing that, we can wait a LOT longer than just about anyone else. Quote: I got this in an email the other day, I'll edit it for language. Good stuff, Thunder. This is the classic Makers vs. Takers discussion. As nations, we have trained people to expect freebies. For generations, they have accepted the freebies. Now these are seen as "rights", as if anyone had a right to the wealth or property of another person. They don't. Freebies are gifts, not rights. Unfortunately, those who are trained not to make any effort to support themselves get very unhappy when they are required to do so. Well... tough noogie. Lots of us have worked very hard to EARN what we have. We have it in spite of the government and not because of it. We have rights too and private property rights are chief among them. Without private property and the rights appertaining thereto, there really aren't any other rights. PP rights are the bedrock of civilization. It is time to start training ALL of our citizens that governments exist to guarantee equal access to opportunities, not to guarantee successful outcomes. Quote: Bottom line. America is doing the same thing as the British. America WILL GET the SAME results. I agree. But unlike the Brits and the Canadians, we Americans have the right and the ability to defend ourselves and our property... and we WILL. Quote: The prediction market INTRADE has Obama at about a 51% chance of reelection. We just have to laugh at some of these things. Anyone else remember when the so-called main stream media said that the Reagan vs. Mondale race was "simply too close to call"? Too close to call? It was the greatest political landslide in American history! So much for the difference between honest polling and wishful thinking. Quote: The Mayan calendar restart next year is nothing different any other calendar rollover. If the Mayan calendar is so amazing, perhaps some Mayans who are well schooled in it could explain its finer points to the rest of us. What? They're all dead? Oh, well. Maybe they should have foreseen THAT in their calendar?! Quote: Do you think Uncle Ben's speech today is going to help or hurt metals prices? It turned out to be a non-event and life seems to be continuing regardless of Uncle Ben's mutterings. The chatter on the street is that there will be some Fed support of the economy, although it is unlikely to be discussed by anyone and will definitely not be called QE3 or anything else remotely suggestive of those failed efforts. Stocks and PMs were up today, so no new direction was established.

No way I would buy off ebay. The ebay fees force the sellers to overprice their PMs. Not only that, but it is very hard to buy PMs on ebay without first verifying that they are what they are purported to be, PMs.

I almost never use the "buy it now" auctions for PMs, but sometimes you can get a fair price on the real auctions.

Quote:No way I would buy off ebay. Me neither but it does seem a decent place to sell some PMs from time to time. My son sold all of my casino gaming tokens there and did pretty well with that as well as with some other items he had for sale. I agree that their fees could be more reasonable, though.
