The Mint operates like the post office and all other monopolies. Do as you please and if someone doesn't like it, well tough.

Instead of showcasing the best of America, we happily sit and watch the world turn round.

Well I went ahead and tried the fixes even tho I knew they would not work, guess what?

I still can't log onto my account.

From ND "The Mint operates like the post office and all other monopolies. Do as you please and if someone doesn't like it, well tough."--Yes indeed, that is why most intelligent Americans avoid dealing with the government in any form. Instead of using the PO, I use UPS or FEDEX--If there was another place where I could buy what I want to collect at issue price I would go to them. As you can see eventually they will start to lose money, now I intend to keep my money and NOT buy any more coins until they get there crap together--If enof peeps do that, they will change there tune real quick like..[:0]

As for the US Mint, I have just about given up on those people for this year--whoever is doing there web work is trully incompetent, unless of course the mint is doing this on purpose..which wouldn't surprise me for whatever silly reason those bureaucrat(s)have...

Don't really know what to tell you CiScO. After reading your post, I tried the Mint site again and everything worked fine, all the way into my account etc. Absolutely no problems.
Hate to say this but, could it be your computer?

I can't log in either. When I do, I get a message in red stating that they are working on the website and to call if I want to buy something. No, it's not just you Cisco.

For the first time in weeks, I can get the website to come up. This weekend, I will probably find out if I can actually order anything.

I am soo sick of politician's collecting campaign contributions which go into their pockets (or in the case of the man third in line for the presidency, his wife's pocket- and he has the gall to say that charges filed by the grand jury in TX are politically motivated!)

Who are you talking about? Third in line for the Presidency is House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert, not Majority Leader DeLay.

hmmm, I guess I don't question the political motivation of the charges against DeLay, the same as I didn't question that the impeachment charges brought against President Clinton were politically based. These men are IN POLITICS, of course EVERYTHING that goes on around them is politically motivated!

I hear what you are saying SiScO, so went back into the Mint site and ordered some more little items again. Boy, I've spent all my money so won't be checking them again any time soon.

So, all I can say is I don't know any body there, so can't explain the ability to log on and go through the whole process without any problems.
Again, Good luck... What-Is-Wrong-With-Mint??

I fergot bout this old thread, glad to see somebody brought it up again--

Update with me--Well I called the mint last week and cussed out the foreigner who answered the phone in broken english--(I would not be surprised if my call was answered in India--how ironic--)Altho I must admit he was friendly and answered all my questions honestly best he could--At least they do admit they are having problems--I told them that there IT people are the most incompetent I have seen, that if they worked in the "real" world they would have been fired already and that is what I recommend the mint do--

Since I could not get into my original account I told the dude I was going to open a new account and start a new register--Well guess what? It would not let me open an account HAHAHAHA[:0] I couldn't believe it--what an operation--Just for S&G's I tried again just now to log onto any account, it would not let still till this day-- What I did do tho was go ahead and placed an order and went thru the check out process to see if that will work--Well lo & behold--That part worked ok surprised the hell outa me--So I went ahead and made my measly purchase for the rest of this year, my usual proof SAE and the silver proofs sets 2 of each, and another of the p&d nickel rolls--Now I haven't received the items yet, so until I receive these puppies I guess I won't really know whether it worked or not--stay tuned--

BTW olddan, where and how do you make those emotioncons stick in your message? You and zagold (his look larger) are posting those cutties in your messages and I was wondering where u guys get em and how do u paste em to your messages--

Received items in record time--amazing, they might have the internet connection messed up, but them they have cracked the whip at the mint and shipping department--I even got the buff nickel roll, last time it took em 3 months--Either that or they realize I'm one of the heavy duty complainers that has assaulted there web site and the mint operators---either way it worked---Now if they can fix my account so I can log on---maybe--just maybe I'll buy more stuff this year--& if my heart feels good that day--I might even forgive there transgression--D]What-Is-Wrong-With-Mint??
