I would keep them all but that $20 star. If you keep any of the new new notes, make sure they are UNC. Otherwise you will be keeping way to many and everyone else will already have or want the UNC ones. I would spend that $20 star. Ty

There is a website, uspapermoney.info, it is awesome for US currency. It's a little trick to navigate, but once you understand it, it's great. I check all my bills there. Even non stars. Some modern notes are pirnted in short runs. For you coin folk that means low mintage. My opinion, keep the $1 and $20. Spend the $5. You can always make a quick buck on ebay selling stars. Happy hunting, Michael

I work at a bank and any time I see a star note I keep them, no matter what the condition. Thats about the only thing I collect though, that and anything thats the older style money.

Why do people sell the new style star notes on ebay? They sell for very little over face value. I don't see the points... just stick around work for 10 minutes longer and make the same amount of cash... Hey, a guy came in with 9 consecutive $10 bills from the new 2004 design. Since none of the corners were damaged and they were UNC, I kept them. Should those be spent? They were not stars, unfortunately. Ty

well I could see why you would wnat to keep them, is it worth it. I dont know it comes down to can you afford to. This type I would keep knowing that I would keep it a slong as I could but If I needed some extra money than iw ould bring these notes out and not touch anything really good . But that is just what I do

Hey Ty,
You have to remember that even some of the modern stars are printed in very short runs.
Just as an example the $1 2003 star note for district 4, Cleveland, had only 320,000 notes printed. They sell for around $35 in VF and $100 in CHCU.

I have yet to find a star note. When I have done some volunteer work our organization parked cars at a local event, by the end of the day I had 6 star notes and one error note. (all of them now given away or sold) Perhaps this is a call for more of us to do more volunteer work. Happy Holidys
