I like buying ICG.
So often they are immediately dismissed as 2-3 grades over graded.
Sometimes they hit the nail on the head though, and I get a NICE pick up.
Buy the coin not the holder.

Thank you! I guess PCGS it is. I looked up NCG and ICG..I have bank notes and they seem to only deal with coins..

Many people consider PMG to be the best American Grading Service for American Notes. They are owned by NGC. http://www.pmgnotes.com/ |

I grade my own notes, it's a great learning experience and a lot less costly doing it yourself. If you don't want to grade your own currency for what ever reason then I believe PMG is the way to go for notes. I tend not to like a grading service that cant seem to make up it's own mind by using terms like Almost, Apparent VF, etc., etc.

Does anyone have any experience with CGA and sending submissions? I have read good things about them but want to know what others experience using them good or bad.

By the way ckspell the best known services that deal with notes are CGA, PCGS and PMG.

The answer to this question, every time, be it coins or paper is PCGS.
Not because it is the only good grading service, but because it is the grading service with BY FAR the highest resale value when you decide to move the coin.

Not so, I agree if your just doing Coins but not for
US Paper Money, Number one for US Paper Money would be PMG, second in line would be CGA. After that you will be just as well off if you do it your self.
If you want to do Coins yes, go with PCGS, they seem to know Coins, but not Paper.

I am not completely sure which of the grading services would be the best, but I usually see PMG and PCGS graded notes. I remember before PMG and PCGS got into the paper money grading business, CGA was the only one that I saw grading notes. Now, I don't see them all that often anymore.

Well I noticed Heritage is using PCGS for a lot of note grading which, in my mind, means they are either loose or the market favors those holders and they are looking to take advantage of that. If you look at the material Heritage offers then you can see what I mean. I'm not that familiar with these currency grading services but see that everyone has a favorite. In the end, I am going to have to rely on my eyes  |

Good for you,I've said that more than once. Learn to grade your self. What a lot of guys seem to forget is that it's not always about the money you fold up and put in your pocket. That's not what collecting is all about.
If that's all your interested in then your not really a collector, your an investor and probably have no interest in building a collection of anything.
Investors only seem to be interested in the kind of money you can fold up and put in your pocket, the first thing they ask is, what's it worth, and the second thing they ask is how much can I sell it for.
