Hello everyone! Does anyone know of a good coin database. I am thinking about making one in ACCESS to save the money and was wondering if it would be worth the time and effort? If anyone has built a database in ACCESS do you have any pointers or suggestions.Or should I just buy one? If so what are some good ones?
I started to build a databse in Access after I was disappointed with a couple of the software programs I tried. I never finished it though and am still using Excell.
Thanks for the info. I thought about using Excel because it is better at calculations however I have not used Excel very much. I have taken a few classes on ACCESS and feel it would be perfect to create a coin database. I am just not sure where to begin. I was hoping someone had started something in ACCESS that I could expand upon. Thanks again for the help.
Thanks again everyone. I have taken some classes on programming ACCESS and I will make an attempt to create a database. If I come up with anything good I will pass it along. It may take a while though!
I've written several dozen coin collection db's over the years for people, nothing out of the box tracks what YOU want tracked - just what someone else felt you needed to track.
Access works fine, as does any other high-level db language you want to use.
I use Exel myself already for manny years, as well as for my own, as for my doubles, you can easy fill in extra's and there are lot's of posibillity's with it.
During the years I swapped coins on the internet, I have seen manny, manny trade lists, and most of them where in Exel made.
