Hi people,

Well here is my description of a coin given to me:

It's a Silver coin of 38mm diameter. There is no Nationality nor date on the coin, which really makes me suspect it's a fake.

One side features a flying eagle with an American flag in it's beak, though my count may be wrong, I count 28 stars on the flag. Below the eagle are 2 crossed laurel branches and above the Eagle 8 stars. 3 sack like appendages descend off the eagles left wing.

The other side features a Liberty head, the word Liberty printed on the crown/ Tiara. Head is looking to the left. 21 stars surround the head.

Unfortunately, I have no scales but I would suggest it feels lighter than the 1799 liberty head I also have when compared by hand. The other thing I note is that comapred to nearly any other coin I've seen, the relief is very high, especially on the body of the eagle.

Any suggestions on what this might be?

Cheers: Wags

Well, here it's sold as "copy", however probably it's better described as "fantasy piece".

I guess, you'd have to make a counterstamp and add the denomination on it

I don't have it but well, I doubt it since they are sold individually for $2.5 here, and cheaper in bulk. Oh and by the way the bird is described as "pigeon" here.

And by the way, if you read this, please send me an email /the letter icon by the time of my post/, as since you are in China, I'd like to ask you some questions about Chinese coins.
