I really do not believe this was a strike through. Just a very weak strike.

Dave, putting apparent luster (or reflection) aside on the reverse, the obverse image is a little too fuzzy to make a good determination of its possible wear, especially on the breast feathers.
Rick, when you receive the Morgan, give us an eyeball opinion.

S olid p oints, Fred. I think we sh ould have Susan publish a caveat at the t op of each subf orum page: COINS GRADED FROM PHOTOGRAPHS ARE ESTIMATES ONLY. YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY.

Hi Fred
I will be sure and post to this coin after I receive it, depending on what it looks like I may send it to anacs for slabbing it will be my first submission ever if I do .
At any rate it fits nicely with my collection of O mint Morgans.

L ooking f or an other thread, I had t o pause and reflect f or a m oment on this t opic. Because this is an internati onal f orum, such a caveat sh ould c orrectly read: "YOUR KILOMETERAGE MAY VARY."

Hi Fred I have this c oin in hand . T o my less than trained eye f or Morgan dollars, This c oin appears UNC, there is luster present on all of the weak areas, the surr ounding detail is sharp and crisp, the rim even has a sharpness that is indicative of an UNC c oin. Its a great additi on t o my O mint Morgans and I cant thank jd en ough !!! Rick

Why is this a " Morgan" d ollar? Excuse ign orance - just kn ow ab out Aussie c oins(s orta); and then only pre-decimal. That's why curi ous h ow Morgan dollar s o named. T o make matters even w orse(?), once owned exact same 1888 c oin as sh own, but alas st olen al ong with wallet where was kept f or "g ood luck" years ag o .. S o much f or g ood luck! Anyh ow, sure is hands ome l ooking and easy see why is fav ourite c ollect or c oin. Cheers

George T. Morgan was the designer of this beauty. The initial M is found at the neck, and on the left hand loop of the ribbon on the reverse.
